In total, PSH can sleep 30 guests. All beds have high-quality mattresses and pillows and new, large mosquito netting. The house is very open and is designed to maximize the sea breeze. While fans are provided for those especially hot nights, they’re not often needed.
With oversized Asian-style thatched-roof “skylights” in the group loft and beachfront bungalows, and huge folding doors in the suites, all of our accommodation offers superb ocean views. From the group loft, the North-facing skylight offers views of the volcanoes Agua, Acatenango, and Fuego.
There are private bathrooms in the Suites and Casitas, and spacious house bathrooms to share amongst the group loft and the beachfront bungalows. With showers open to the sky and towering bamboo trees, they’re perfect for a private, refreshing, moonlit shower.
All our guests can enjoy unlimited free coffee in the morning.

The Casitas combine the best of everything we have: the private hangout area towards the beach, the ocean-view and the breeze right at your bed upstairs, the private bathroom with starlit shower, plus an additional double sofa-bed downstairs (120 cm wide).

In the main building, PSH offers a spacious and airy surf camp inspired group loft with 8 beds on the upper floor. The loft offers our most economical accommodation, and is a great option for solo travelers.

There are five private Beachfront Bungalows on stilts; all have one double bed and an additional single bed. The Bungalows are right on the beach and have the best sea views. You can check the surf without getting out of bed!

Notice to light sleepers:
Please note that El Paredon is no longer the sleepy fishing village it once was. The evenings can get very lively with bars, restaurants, discos and parties. The Surf House has always been focused on peace and tranquillity, but please expect to hear noise from nearby businesses in the village.
Group Bookings:
We do not accept group bookings made through our online booking platform. If you wish to book more than 3 rooms (or 3 beds in our dorm) please contact us. If you reserve more than 3 rooms/beds online prior to contacting us, your reservation may be cancelled.
Bookings and Cancellations:
In order to confirm your reservation, 100% of the total booking amount will be required at the moment of your reservation.
Please be sure of your plans before booking. We are a small hotel, dealing mostly with advance reservations. Date changes and cancellations affect us dramatically. However, if your plans change, please be aware of the cancelation policy:
- Cancellations more than 3 days prior to your arrival: Any deposit paid is refundable, less a 10% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations less than 3 days prior to arrival: Full amount of your stay will be charged to your credit card.
- Cancellations on arrival date or no shows: The full amount of your stay will be charged to your credit card.
- We’re sorry but we cannot offer refunds for early departures.
Arrival/Departure:
- Check-in time is between 3 pm and 7:30 pm (15:00-19:30). For late check-ins (after 7:30 pm) please contact us in advance.
- Check-out time is 11:00 am. Late check-outs may be permitted subject to availability. Additional fees may apply.
Children:
- We do not accept children under the age of 12 /Solo mayores de 12 años
- 12 or older than 12, is considered an adult for any reservation / 12 o mayores de 12, se consideran adultos para las reservas.
General Policies:
- Absolutely no smoking is allowed inside the rooms.
- Please note that we are not a party hostel. Mild consumption of alcohol is permitted. Absolutely no illegal drugs anywhere at the hotel.
- Sorry, but pets are not allowed. For service pets, please tell us in advance sending the legal paperwork that certifies it.
- No noise after 9 pm.
- Outside drink and food are not allowed inside the hotel area.
- Additional restrictions may apply throughout the year. Policies are subject to change.
